tdu update

looks like we're playing two sets at the amnesty benefit...
one about 6 and one about 9:30...
I'll make at least part of the 6 o clock set,
but I'll still be "By the bog of cats" at nine...

anyway, go support Amnesty and all that...

Feelin' Boggy...

So, when my director said,
"Everyone go get some rest tonight."
I thought he said,
"Go drink tequila until 4 a.m.
and then eat mexican food."

a play and some bands...chances to see me - aren't you excited?

This weekend "By The Bog of Cats" opens...
and both The Mathletes and The Defenestration Unit will be playing...

TDU is on the Amnesty Int. Benefit gig at Last Concert...  (http://www.lastconcert.com/))
so far nobody has been able to tell us when we're playing...
it'll be sometime Saturday...
(from looking at the website it seems like we'll be pretty late - after the play at least,
right before free radicals! YAY!)

The Mathletes are playing Friday night at Helios...
We'll be playing with Two Star Symphony and Landfall...
This is gonna be a fun show, and the debut of the latest mathletes lineup...

and of course before one of the shows you should come see
"By The Bog Of Cats"

cut and pasted info follows:

This show was playing in the London West end. Now you can see it in Houston.

Mildred’s Umbrella Theater Company Presents:

By the Bog of Cats

By Marina Carr

Houston, Tx- Set in the mysterious landscape of the bogs of rural Ireland, Marina Carr's lyrical play tells the story of Hester Swane, a woman tormented by the memory of her mother, who deserted her, and enraged by a man who has betrayed her. On the brink of heartbreak and desperation, she travels a terrible path of vengeance that results in a tragic conclusion. With this play, brimming with dark secrets, tangled histories, spirits and black humor, Mildred’s Umbrella puts their unique stamp on this unforgettable journey of contemporary tragedy wedded with ancient myth.

Directed by Unhinged Production's Interim Artistic Director, Randy Symank, and produced by Mildred‘s Umbrella‘s Jennifer Decker, “By the Bog of Cats” opens September 30, at Midtown Art Center, 3414 LaBranch at Holman, and runs through October 22, Fridays and Saturdays and two “pay as you like” Mondays, (October 3rd and 17th).

RPS - 25

Utter madness via Misc. Heathen:

RPS - 25

Eschaton - Delay Indicted

Eschaton:

"A Travis County grand jury today indicted U.S. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay on one count of criminal conspiracy, jeopardizing the Sugar Land Republican's leadership role as the second most powerful Texan in Washington, D.C.

The charge, a state jail felony punishable by up to two years incarceration, stems from his role with his political committee, Texans for a Republican Majority, a now-defunct organization that already had been indicted on charges of illegally using corporate money during the 2002 legislative elections."

whooohoooo!
I'll drink to that.

unmotivated - file under: self-indulgent

Yeah,
so anyway,
I had a night
that ended
early this mornin'.
Later than usual.
and although
in many ways
it was
a great night
I feel
the reality
of
the devils inside
(sloth
inaction
two of the big ones)
and a real unwillingness
to, well, do much of anything.

eh.

unmotivated
moreso than usual
that possible?

going
to get fast food

I'd say
God bless
Rudyard's
Poison Girl
#'s
Notsuoh

and all the other
fine purveyors
of alcohol
and pub food
that have kept
us Houstonians
sane
drunk
and
fed
through
the great storm
that wasn't

I hope
you made
a killing

you got
all
my cash
anyway...

It's going to take
our city days
to recover
from this
whole lot
of nothing...
