went and bought some books today.
couldn't afford it.
did it anyway.
Got "Brecht on Theatre" -
A collection of his essays.
It's amazing how much what
I've read so far reminds me of
what I like about Ives writing.
There is a certain toughness and orneryness
in the writings of both.
Also picked up "Harold Pinter - Complete Works Vol. 1"
Time to further my education.
Figured I'd have a lot of time this week to read,
but now I'll be learning lines instead.
Got a call from a friend and now I'll be doing some
scenes from "A Christmas Carol" at some kind of corporate
party, and then wandering around in costume.
It'll pay about the same as a week or so of filing,
and I'll get to drink.
This is a good gig.
I think I'm gonna get to be Cratchit.
So I guess I'll put the war on Christmas on hold for a night...

Bob Cratchit is my favorite character in 'A Christmas Carol'. He's a genuinely nice fellow and not all smarmy and too-good-to-be-true like that annoying kid of his. No, Bob Cratchit shows up late to work, drinks a bit, sneaks coal on the fire at the office. Go, Bob Cratchit!
