We do what we're told...

WFMU's Beware of the Blog: Stanley Milgram's Obedience Movie (video): "A lot of bad art has come out of Stanley Milgram's Obedience to Authority Study, not the least of which was the 1975 William Shatner TV movie The Tenth Level (with John Travolta, Ossie Davis and Lindsay Crouse) or the April 2000 episode of Seven Second Delay, in which Andy and I called local merchants to see if they would press a button on their telephone, causing one of us to be shocked, which almost all of them did gleefully [streaming realaudio archive]. And then there's Peter Gabriel's 1986 song We Do What We're Told (Milgram's 37). I'll stop there, but trust me - there's more.

With so much dreck inspired by what was possibly the greatest social psychology experiment of all time, it's no surprise that Milgram's own 1965 documentary Obedience was lost in the shuffle."

Imagine me in a white coat telling you to follow the link and download the documentary.
