Daniel's Visual Art

the aquarium - now on: "Daniel Johnston is a visionary artist whose work in both music and visual art has made him a cult legend. Despite being better known for his heartrendingly honest songs that tell tales of unrequited love, cosmic mishaps and existential torment, Daniel did in fact study art and his work is currently on show at the Whitney Biennial, New York. This, along with a major feature on Daniel’s visual art in the New York Times newspaper, marks a shift from his underground status to a wider acceptance in the fine art world, but we won’t let that get in the way of a show at The Aquarium. We are delighted to have an artist of such creative fervour and inspirational talent joining our ranks of other art desperadoes. Chiefly - James Cauty, Billy Childish, Sexton Ming, Jamie Reid and STOT21stCplanB."
