Discovering Maynard G. Krebs on The Many Love of Dobie Gillis on Nick at Nite was like discovering my archetype, or a fun house mirror, or something...
While he was not the first slacker, and only a parody of a beat, he stands as a shining example to all of us who only want to play bongos and hang out at coffee houses,
and grow goatees,
and not work.
It wasn't too long ago he was busted for marijuana possession (Denver, not Krebs)...

you will be missed.
