Horshack

Horshack:
"The band that essentially introduced Charlie Horshack and Mike Switzer to one another,
Horshack started as a jam band at then-drummer Andre Beskrowni's home in the winter of 1992, playing (and recording) versions of various blues songs ('Stormy Monday,' 'Hoochie Coochie Man') and Neil Young guitar workouts ('Cowgirl in the Sand,' 'Down By the River'), as those comprised the only initial common ground between the disparate members of the group. After some early performances at Zelda's and on the University of Houston campus, resulting in a 'fan base' of primarily dormitory residents, the group went on to perform in various clubs around Houston, including Goats Head Soup, Catal Huyuk, and Epstein's.
The group changed drummers several times, and with Tom Turner as drummer, recorded their one and only opus, Kicking Jim Morrison's Ass, at guitarist Karl Eifrig's residence, next door to Mike's place, a scant block or two away from where the HIC would later take up residence on Lawson street. Horshack broke up shortly after, just as Avijit completed work on their first proto-album Salamander, though Horshack did 'reunite' for two more shows (with local substitute drummer and guitarist): the final University of Houston Perpetual Park Party (for which they were paid a handsome $500), and the party following the wedding of Andrew and Tonya Nicolaou, at which they played so loud everyone went outside."

Horshack is on myspace.
