I think I've only seen these guys in the Grant Morrison run of Doom Patrol... is that what this is from, or were they regular DC characters?

Ron said...: The Teen Titans kind of adopted these very weird villains from the DP back in 1980 when Marv Wolfman retooled the sidekick group for the Reagan era. He dusted off the minor Doom Patrol character Beast Boy, renamed him "Changeling," and started pulling in a few elements from his former group's back story--at that point, the Doom Patrol was considered killed in action, so Wolfman was given free reign with the characters. Indeed, I remember an early New Teen Titans story that had Changling trying to figure out what happened to his former teammates.
