DOOM PATROL, DEADMAN TO THE BIG SCREEN; HULK GETS DIRECTOR - NEWSARAMA

DOOM PATROL, DEADMAN TO THE BIG SCREEN; HULK GETS DIRECTOR - NEWSARAMA:

This could be very good:

"On the Deadman front, Guillermo del Toro (Hellboy) is in negotiations to develop the comics-to-film adaptation, teaming up with Don Murphy's Angry Films."

This will be better than the Ang Lee mess:

"Finally, action director Louis Leterrier (Transporter, Transporter 2) has signed on to direct The Incredible Hulk for Marvel Studios. which according to the trade, will return the character to his comic book roots."

It's not that the Ang Lee hulk movie was an awful movie,
it was just an awful hulk movie.
There are some very distinct issues that The Hulk deals with, and none of them are father issues. Issues of identity, control, society, alienation, rage, the beast within - all kinds of good stuff to play with, but Ang Lee came in with a different agenda and made a movie about a character who turned big and green but was not, in fundamental ways, the character I wanted to see a movie about...you know, The Hulk?
