Variety.com - Warner making room for 'Doom'

Ran across this on AICN too this a.m. and since we been talkin' Doom Patrol here thought I'd just give it a mention -

Variety.com - Warner making room for 'Doom':
"Warner Bros. Pictures is giving new life to DC Comics cult favorite 'Doom Patrol,' about a band of superheroes with freakish powers, with Akiva Goldsman producing the bigscreen adaptation through his Warners-based Weed Road Pictures."

I hope they pull primarily from the Morrison run... the other ones were just too mundane... it'd take a Morrison-inspired Doom Patrol to make people forget about X-Men comparisons...

I used to read Doom Patrol a long time ago when I ran a comics store. What should I pick up to catch up with you guys? -jdoombass

Well, right now they have three trade paperbacks that compile much of the early Grant Morrison run, which is obviously in MY opinion the only run really worth getting.. you can get them on Amazon, and if you go to a book store, they're likely to be the only trade paperbacks out for Doom Patrol...
